Paradise on Earth

A collection of poems by David Morin

The Rainforest

In the heart of the West African rainforest a narrow waterfall cascaded forth into a stony pool

Shafts of sunlight filtered through the forest canopy of trees

This small part of the forest passed a timeless beauty of its own

The rain was falling softly on the forest canopy above, then it would stop for a while

Sunrise would surely come as surely as dusk would fall

The nightime sounds of the forest filled the air as it had always done back through the years
